This is a live vaccination not included in the UK childhood vaccination programme but has been available for over 20 years.
Indications
Children over 9 months and adults who have not had Chicken Pox.
Things to know
Cannot be given if you have a fever, have had spleen removed, are pregnant or are undergoing treatment with drugs that reduce immunity. Cannot be given within 4 weeks of other live vaccines e.g. MMR or Yellow Fever vaccines.
Dosing Schedule
2 doses given, 6-8 weeks apart.

£100 per dose.
Please note: You can book and pay for a vaccination appointment online (£40), but will need to pay for the price of the vaccine on the day you attend the appointment. Please provide medical records detailing prior vaccinations, or your vaccination history, in time for your consultation.

What a fab practice - from reception who raised my query with the GPs, arranged for me to email details through, and then to the GP (Dr Peck) calling me back the same day with a treatment plan and advice. Real service and empathy.
