Ligaments are made up of dense connective tissue known as collagen and their primary function is to connect two bones together to enhance the stability of a joint. Similar to muscle injuries, ligament injuries occur when the demands placed on the tissue exceed its ability to sustain it, and also have an injury grading classification (1, 2, 3). A grade 1 sprain represents some stretching of the fibres, however no adverse movement is seen on clinical assessment of the joint. A grade 2 sprain involves disruption of some of the collagen fibres with the joint demonstrating increased available range of motion on clinical assessment, however a definitive end point is present. A grade 3 sprain involves complete tear of the ligament with excessive laxity present and no end feel on clinical assessment. Management of ligament injuries depends on the severity and location of the sprain.

What a fab practice - from reception who raised my query with the GPs, arranged for me to email details through, and then to the GP (Dr Peck) calling me back the same day with a treatment plan and advice. Real service and empathy.
I was very impressed by the staff in the private GP services and the service offered. They made sure my concerns were settled and approved all my terms therefore, I'd always consider and recommend this place.
The receptionist was lovely and helped me get an appointment the same afternoon. Staff were highly professional, polite and friendly. Dr was extremely engaged and didn’t feel rushed in my appointment, will definitely be booking again in the future.
