Well person Screening at Private GP Services

Well person screening checks are an important part of your health maintenance regime, along with exercise, a healthy diet and lifestyle. We aim to detect medical problems which may cause you ill-health in the future and which, if detected early on, can be modified. For most patients, a well person screening would be of benefit every three years.

Well person screening checks are available for all age groups. The check consists of 2 separate appointments: at the first, which lasts 45 minutes, the doctor will take a full history from you, examine you thoroughly, and discuss with you which tests are appropriate for you, bearing in mind your age, your health background, family background, personal concerns and your budget. At the second appointment, some 2 weeks later, the doctor will discuss with you her written report, which will include her assessment of your current and future health problems, and recommendations about changes which need to be made. You will take away both the written report and printed information leaflets which are relevant to your health.

The cost of the screening is fixed at £230.00 and includes both appointments and the report. The costs of any tests recommended are not included in this fee. We prefer this approach, as we treat each patient as an individual and will only recommend the tests we feel are appropriate in each case. Please note: These are detailed check-ups requiring a considerable investment of time from both doctor and patient. Failure to attend with less than 24hrs notice will be charged at 50% of the appointment charge.
