- ACUPUNCTURE The Chinese have practised Acupuncture for over 3000 years. They believe the body contains channels or meridian along which Q1 (pronounced Chee) energy flows. This flow of energy is balanced by positive and negative forces. If this balance is affected then pain and disease can occur. In the last 40 years we now know that acupuncture also causes the release of our own natural pain-relieving chemicals, endorphins.
- HOMEOPATHIC Homeopathy is one of a number of forms of complementary medicine. It can be used alongside conventional medicines as well as in circumstances where conventional medicine has not helped a particular problem. Homeopathy has been used for centuries and has been included within the National Health Service. There are 4 major homeopathic hospitals within the NHS: London, Bristol, Tunbridge Wells and Glasgow. At the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital the Queen retains her own homeopath. I have undertaken my 3 year training in homeopathy at The Royal London Hospital. I have found the study and practice of homeopathic medicine to be a complete revelation after 20 years of purely conventional medicine. The benefit to my patients has been considerable.
