Fiona Decides Not To Get Flu ........
Fiona is 43 years old. She is busy at work, busy at home, busy with friends. She dreads every winter because she always gets flu. Fiona has had some sort of flu like illness most years recently. She has a job that involves dealing with the public and has children that bring home every bug known to man and pass it on to her ..... the children seem to get it, get over it and get on with life, but Fiona knows that when she gets flu. she'll be ill for a week, and washed out for another 2 weeks.
So every year Fiona promises herself that she will have a flu vaccination.........and every year she doesn't, because Fiona is terrified of needles..........
She tells herself that this is ridiculous, the needle is tiny, the time it takes is seconds, the advantages of vaccination are huge, but she simply cannot bring her self to go for an immunisation.
This year, help is at hand for Fiona and the thousands of other adults in the country who are needle~phobic.
From September 2011 both standard flu vaccines and tiny-needle flu vaccines will be readily available. The tiny- needle vaccines proved very popular in 2010 and many people were surprised at how easy the injection was for them. We will be offering both types of flu vaccine at the same price of £25.00 from September 2011.
There is the promise of a longterm protection flu injection in the pipeline , but this is not yet available. Current best medical advice is still to have a flu injection yearly to ensure protection. The vaccine is just as effective as the more traditional flu vaccines in preventing flu.
So this year Fiona is coming to Private GP Services for an intradermal flu vaccine and is looking forward to her winter without the dread of catching flu.

If you ring up to book a flu vaccine please STATE ON BOOKING that you want the new tiny needle vaccine as these vaccines need to be pre-ordered and we will not carry huge stocks.
Please note that this new vaccine is NOT licensed for use in children aged under 18 years old.
